By Train

Masson Mills is within walking distance of both Matlock Bath and Cromford railway stations on the Derwent Valley Line. Direct connections run from Derby, with onward links from Sheffield, Nottingham and Birmingham. 

  • Matlock Bath Station — approx. 10–15 minute walk along the riverside

  • Cromford Station — approx. 15 minute walk via Mill Road

By Bus

There is a bus stop directly outside Masson Mills. Regular services connect the area with Derby, Belper, Bakewell, Chesterfield and Sheffield.

Overspill Parking

Additional parking is available at Cromford meadows and nearby Cromford Wharf Car Park on Mill Road, Cromford DE4 3RQ: Parking charges apply

To find it:

  • Follow signs for Cromford Canal / Cromford Wharf/Cromford Mill

  • Turn onto Mill Road from the A6

  • The car park is beside the canal and meadow area on the right.

From Cromford Meadows it is approximately:

  • 10–15 minutes’ walk to Masson Mills - cross the road and take the blue gate by the church: walk aong the river path (flat) and turn right out of the gate at the bottom end of the path. Walk a further 5 minutes and Masson Mills is on your right.

  • a mostly flat walk along the canal and riverside route

£2 entrance fee payable on the door. No dogs allowed - Guide dogs etc are an exception.
